HOW TO ELEVATE YOUR LOOK (EDGY)

Processed with VSCO with s2 preset

How do you elevate an outfit you find simple yet chic into something more edgy? Well, people often find that adding pieces or accessories to their looks elevate their style or makes it look edgy. In my case, I’m a leather jacket guy.
When it came to styling my AG Jeans skinny jeans and sweater I knew exactly the pieces I wanted to use for this purpose, that I could elevate from chic to edgy. I paired them up with my biker leather jacket and black patent boots. This made my look stand-out a bit and become easy to wear during the day and for any sudden night plans (Clubbing/bar hopping ehem).
To finish off, I added black Dior mirrored sunnies which quickly grabbed the focus back to me and works well with the whole edgy boy concept.

HOW TO WEAR YOUR DAD’S LEATHER JACKET

Processed with VSCO with s2 preset

Lately I’ve been playing with my Dad’s wardrobe. He’s been visiting for a while and I seem to not get enough of wearing his oversized jackets. There’s just something about the relaxed fit when wearing something that is twice as big as you.
I paired my Dad’s oversized leather jacket with an all black look, statement sneakers and bold sunglasses. When rocking pieces like this that don’t match your size it’ll become an instant oversized statement, therefore you should know how to style it properly. This leather and style of the jacket gives me a vintage look back to when my dad used to rock this style. The belt I chose to wear has some sort of vintage buckle that makes the outfit 70s worthy.

Another way of wearing your Dad’s vintage jacket is simply recognizing that it should not be fitted to your body and you can play with the sleeves and shoulders.

What do you guys  think about playing with your father’s wardrobe for a bit? Try wearing those oversized statement pieces and vintage finds to step up your streetwear.

WINDBREAKER LOOK INSPO

It’s been a while without using any statement white piece huh? Well, I happened to find myself with another Marcelo piece from County of Milan. I’m not going to lie to you guys but I felt major Ariana vibes using this. Any Ariana fans over here? You’ll probably catch the joke.
I’m styling this white oversized windbreaker coat with an all black look to highlight itself. However, I don’t want to recreate just another all black look under a statement piece. I’m adding the Dr. Martens patent boots, which are my recent vintage shop find. The touch of the patent boots adds a touch of edgy to the look, making it wearable on a rainy day as well.

MARCELO BURLON – NEW DESIGNER OBSESSION

Processed with VSCO with s2 preset

There’s a current streetwear designer that I’m obsessing about: Marcelo Burlon. I was introduced to Marcelo’s designs through my friend Greg who is as hyped as I am when we talk about his pieces.

I was always that preppy kid opposed to wear streetwear or urban-chic style until I saw his designs. I am not joking or exaggerating, I thought streetwear wasn’t meant for me. I told you guys on the previous post how I used to say that New York would never shape my caribbean style. Guess what? That Caribbean boy gave in to the trend.

This new style that some called #hype #hypebeast #urban or #streetwear is the hottest trend in not only men’s fashion but women’s fashion as well. There’s just something about Marcelo’s designs that make me feel not only #hyped but comfortably confident. Coming from the streets of Milan to New York, this is the style and the pieces to wear for this spring – summer.

P.s. I found out Kendall Jenner wore this jacket once (YES, #kennyvibes). So, nothing out of this world (sarcastic tone).

SPRING COAT

Processed with VSCO with s2 preset

It’s hard to believe that it’s my first spring in New York and I thought it would be super warm already. But, you guys know the weather here is more bipolar than my shopping days. I came back from my vacations in DR like a week ago and I thought I would be vibing super tropical in my looks. Guess what? I can’t stop wearing black! I guess my friends were right when they said, “once you go to new york your style will change forever”. Well, we’re about to see if that’s totally true.

For this outfit I wanted to wear all black turtle-neck and everything. I find simplicity and elegance behind this type of look. Also, it’s been raining crazyily, nobody ever knows if a gray day turns into a wet one, so I like to be prepared. I paired this all black look with this camel trench that I had in my rack since winter (winter was over a week ago) and to my surprise, my conspiracy theory was true. By wearing a stand out neutral coat on top of an all black look, I was able to highlight the details of itself even better. Check out the belt details around my wrists! I have that major fifty-shades vibe while still looking chic, I believe.
